Multnomah County Animal Services
The mission of Multnomah County Animal Services ("MultCoPets") is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of pets and people in Multnomah County.
We are participating in the EcoChallenge, and from October 1st through 15th we will be taking on a challenge to reduce our impact and prove that small actions add up to real change.
We plan to focus on the following three categories for this year's EcoChallenge.
Alternative transportation:
* Minimize car trips by “chaining” together errands and meetings or by running errands on the way to or from work, instead of making separate trips
* Take the bus, ride a bike, walk or carpool to get to and from work
* Walk, bike, or take public transit to attend meetings or run errands within one or two miles (one for walking, two for biking or busing) of work
Green meetings and events:
* Turn off lights when leaving a meeting room (or any room!)
* Turn off computers, monitors and projectors when not in use
* Take notes and write agendas electronically or on white boards
Trash reduction:
* Use reusable water bottles instead of buying bottled water
* Use a reusable mug
* Bring a zero waste lunch
