EcoChallenge 2012

Multnomah County

Multnomah County Midland Library

The Midland Library team is committed to the following challenges:
Alternative transportation
- Minimize car trips by “chaining” together errands and meetings or by running errands on the way to or from work, instead of making separate trips
- Take the bus, ride a bike, walk or carpool to get to and from work
- Walk, bike, or take public transit to attend meetings or run errands (within one mile walking or two miles for bus/bike)

Green meetings and events
-Turn off lights when leaving a meeting room (or any room!)
-Turn off computers, monitors and projectors when not in use
-Take notes and write agendas electronically or on white boards

Trash reduction
- Use reusable water bottles instead of buying bottled water
- Use a reusable mug
- Bring a zero waste lunch
